A new research study shows that participating yoga can help in
soothing acute and chronic lower back pain.
In essence, people were divided into 2 groups that were feeling
lower back discomfort on a regular basis. The study consisted of a little less than 100 back pain sufferers with
varied levels of movement and function issues. No people were seriously disabled where they required help to do the
yoga.
One group did not participate in the yoga programs at all but
merely continued their current treatments and the other group began participating yoga 2 times per week for 1.5
hour workouts for a six month period. Research studies show that the yoga group of people showed a reduction in
pain and discomfort and recovered strength, mobility, and functionality that was greater than the non-yoga group.
